EduCap Inc. Announces Student Loan Benefit Program for Employees, of NACDS, Member Companies, and Their Families

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2005 - EduCap Inc. today announced that it has joined forces with The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) to offer NACDS, its member companies, and their employees, retirees, and family members access to affordable higher education financing through EduCap’s new Loan to Learn® Program.

EduCap, an award-winning not-for-profit organization, pioneered the credit-based education loan industry nearly two decades ago by creating the first nationwide privately-funded student loan program, and helping millions of students turn their education dreams into reality. Loan to Learn provides funds for college tuition, room and board, and all education-related expenses, such as books, fees, supplies, study abroad, and computers. The Loan to Learn program is custom-designed for one specific purpose – to help families pay for college.

Catherine B. Reynolds, Chairman and CEO of EduCap, is delighted at the prospect of partnering with NACDS. “We’re very excited to offer Loan to Learn to NACDS and its member companies,” Reynolds said. “Despite soaring college tuition costs, the employees and retirees of NACDS member companies – not to mention their families – will find that with Loan to Learn, paying for college doesn’t have to be a financial burden. It’s a program that works with the financial rhythm of the family – one with easy monthly payments and flexible terms to fit real-world lifestyles.”

NACDS President and CEO Craig L. Fuller is similarly enthusiastic. “We are looking forward to working with EduCap to offer this outstanding employee benefit to NACDS employees, retirees and their families as well as to those of our member companies,” said Fuller. “With the start of another school year just around the corner, the timing of this initiative is perfect.”

Loan to Learn is a comprehensive higher education financing source, offering not only unsecured, credit-based private loan products, but need-based federal student loans as well. As an added bonus, employees and retirees of NACDS and its member companies, together with members of their families, will receive a discounted interest rate not otherwise available to the general public. They’ll also have access to a toll-free number and knowledgeable service representatives to answer questions and help them through the entire loan approval process. Additionally, EduCap will offer them a customized Loan to Learn web site complete with a host of free planning tools, calculators, and a complimentary guide to higher education financing options.
